Alright.. so I accidentally put in the incorrect country code in the last blog.. i updated it so its fixed now.. but in case you don’t want to reread that one here is the information on my phone here again:
011 505 831 1843
I will not check messages though because it is expensive and receiving calls and texts is free for me!!! Also If I don´t answer call back and if still no answer try 10 min later.. sometimes it doesn´t connect. Phones are tricky here!!! You can get a phone card or call from skype.. those are the cheapest ways to hear my voice! It is also possible to call from your own cell phones too!!! If you happen to call and here some random spanish words it is because my cell phone has been turned off or i am not in a good service area.. it is pretty sporadic here.. but do not worry.. you have the right number!!!!
– We are all in Managua right now.. we are awaiting our swearing in on thursday to become volunteers.. finally after three months we will no longer just be trainees.. Pretty exciting to be sure! We have had some interesting past couple of days. There were several different fiestas thrown for us by families since we left out host towns… good ole ranchero dancing happened, but we also busted out some sweet gringo moves to gringo music. We definitely entertained the Nica’s though. They just stood watching us as we danced around at the parties… I am glad we could add entertainment to their days!
It is crazy to think how fast three months of training has passed. It pretty much flew by. We have so many new adventures and experiences ahead of us. It is kinda crazy to think of and a bit overwhelming at times, but exciting nonetheless! Thus far I have avoided burning my skin in this extraordinary heat and sun.. however I do believe that this will not be avoidable for much longer after I go to my new site in about a week! I may become quite toasted indeed!
We are going to be on national television for our swearing-in ceremony and the Nicaraguan ambassador will be present.. so if you happen to get channels from Nicaragua.. don’t forget to tune in!
Until later……..
Haha, oh you didn’t know that I have to TV sets that receive separate airwaves… one is US and the other Nicaragua! Ha, no but I wish so I could see your ceremony! Congratulations!!! I’m proud of you! And I love you and miss you lil red head!
By the way, way to represent the gringos with some booty shakin… oh yeah!
