Well here are some photos from the latest events…
The group of us at the top are a couple other volunteers that I am working with on our first outing to the nearby city.
We learned to cut tires and flip them inside out to make little gardens out of. The flipping was fun and a bit difficult. Lindsay is in the yellow shirt.. we flipped it all ourselves. Haha. We are in the same language group together.
We also went all together to buy rubber boots for the lodo (mud). Cause there is a ton of it here!!!!!!
I tried to take a photo of my room with the bug net… it was difficult to take and at a strange angle.. but you can image.. small, wooden, damp, and one single light bulb.. perfect. They are thinking about installing another light in my room.. oh yeah!
Much love to you all

I find this all really exciting. I hope you’re getting settled in to the completely new lifestyle! You sound like you’re adjusting well.

Hi Joanna:
Thanks for posting the pictures. Glad to see you have colleagues working with you. Also thankful to hear you are staying with a great family!
I pray for your health and success.
The fresh fruit juices are a blessing; lots and lots of antioxidants. I have friends who use worn out tires for growing potatoes. A tire is filled with dirt and potatoes planted. Then another tire is stacked atop the first, filled with dirt and potatoes planted. Is that what you are trying to do?
Had a big deadline this week with the DOE. Completed a Stage gate review on Roofs and Attic research. Now I await results of a peer review process with possible added work. I am also PI for a new project where we are building four new homes with the TVA, DOE, Schaad Construction and ORNL. Also teaching a CapStone project at UTK. No rest for me!
Take care and keep the pictures coming.
Dad loves you!
